Upcoming LAARD Elections
Our steering committee consists of 6 members elected for staggered 2-year terms. Three positions will soon be vacated, and we are seeking expressions of interest from those who are interested in joining the committee.
Elections will take place online in March 2026, and once elected, there will be an opportunity for the new members to fill various positions. As our President, Webmaster, and one of our two Engagement Team’s representatives will be reaching the end of their terms, it is important that any nominee be prepared to assume one of these roles. Full details of steering committee members’ roles and responsibilities can be found in the constitution document
To comply with our constitution document, at least one PhD student will join the steering committee in the next election round. For the other two vacant positions, we welcome nominations from researchers at any stage of their career but strongly encourage applications by early career researchers.

LAARD1, 2nd in person meeting
The second in-person LAARD community meeting will take place on the first day of UKAS 2026 (30th March) in Bristol. The event will run from 2–6 pm, finishing just in time for the UKAS keynote lecture by Prof. Richard Evershed.
This will be a great opportunity to network with fellow lipid enthusiasts at the start of a busy conference and to get to know some friendly faces over drinks and nibbles. We will also be organising laboratory tours of the School of Chemistry for those interested!

LAARD1, 1st in person meeting
The LAARD community held its first in-person meeting in Turin on Tuesday the 26th of August 2025, as part of the ISBA11 conference.
